LIP SYNC SMACKDOWN

By JEREMY GUTIERREZ

Anyone looking for a highly entertaining night of fun should consider attending Washingtonville’s Fourth annual teacher Lip Sync Battle.   The battle will take place April 6th at 7PM, here at the High School.  Tickets will be on sale for $5 in all lunches on Friday, April 6th, and at the door for $7 at the door on the night of the event.

Unless, a background dancer, students do not take place in the lip sync battle.  Instead, the students are the audience and the teachers are the participants, which is what makes the event so amusing.

Last year’s Lip Sync Battle was a tremendous success, and it is expected that this year’s will be as well.  Anyone who missed last year’s event can view the segment of last year’s battle on the BGTV page on Youtube.  It aired on January 6, 2017.   The segment starts at 4 minutes and 10 seconds.

The winner of last year's event was Ms. Held, and she is looking to repeat history.  Practice sure does make perfect when it comes to lip sync battles.  While some groups only practiced a couple of times, Ms. Held’s 1st place team rehearsed their performance for a couple months, so the practice paid off for them.  With the lip sync battle right around the corner, most teams should be prepared to put on a great show.

When asked if he enjoyed his time last year at the Lip Sync Battle, Myles Passley expressed “The lip sync battle was very entertaining and I would want to go back again this year.”  Like Myles, many other students are going to be enjoying the lip sync battle this year.

Students also make up the group of judges, and when asked what the main focus she will be looking for while judging, two time judge Emily Nagle exclaimed, “I will be looking for how well they lip sync, how well their footwork is, and how well they dance.”

Who will take the trophy this year at the Lip Sync Battle?  See for yourself on April 6th, in the auditorium.
